What is Project 2025?
The "2025 Mandate for Leadership" is deeply concerning for several reasons. It was created as a roadmap for Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
Language found in this plan focuses on traditional definitions of marriage and family, combined with strong religious prioritization that is blatantly exclusionary and discriminatory against LGBTQ+ individuals, non-traditional families, and single mothers.
The plan threatens reproductive rights, including access to abortion and IVF.
The plan seeks to restrict comprehensive education on important social issues.
The plan eliminates overtime pay based on the 40-hour workweek and changes it to a work-month, thereby allowing employers to force overtime hours on employees and then reducing their hours in subsequent weeks.
The plan proposes changes to healthcare that will reduce access to necessary medical services. This includes removing pre-existing conditions protections from health insurance companies.
The plan reduces benefits to our Veterans. Fewer health conditions qualify a veteran for disability benefits. More specifically, Project 2025 calls for a revision of the disability rating awards for future claims while “fully or partially” changing them for existing veteran claims.
The plan will lead to an over-concentration of power in the executive branch, undermining the essential checks and balances crucial to our democracy.
The Republicans’ stance in Project 2025 on environmental and social governance poses significant long-term risks.
The plan proposes the defunding of public broadcasting which threatens valuable educational content and media independence.
Significant reforms to agricultural and education policies will harm low-income families and exacerbate educational inequalities.
The strict immigration policies risk labor shortages and economic harm.
It is imperative to oppose this plan to protect individual freedoms, equality, and the foundational principles of our society. VOTE BLUE UP AND DOWN THE TICKET.
