What is Project 2025?

 The "2025 Mandate for Leadership" is deeply concerning for several reasons. It was created as a roadmap for Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

• Language found in this plan focuses on traditional definitions of marriage and family, combined with strong religious prioritization that is blatantly exclusionary and discriminatory against LGBTQ+ individuals, non-traditional families, and single mothers.

• The plan threatens reproductive rights, including access to abortion and IVF.

• The plan seeks to restrict comprehensive education on important social issues.

• The plan eliminates overtime pay based on the 40-hour workweek and changes it to a work-month, thereby allowing employers to force overtime hours on employees and then reducing their hours in subsequent weeks.

• The plan proposes changes to healthcare that will reduce access to necessary medical services. This includes removing pre-existing conditions protections from health insurance companies.

• The plan reduces benefits to our Veterans. Fewer health conditions qualify a veteran for disability benefits. More specifically, Project 2025 calls for a revision of the disability rating awards for future claims while “fully or partially” changing them for existing veteran claims.

• The plan will lead to an over-concentration of power in the executive branch, undermining the essential checks and balances crucial to our democracy.

• The Republicans’ stance in Project 2025 on environmental and social governance poses significant long-term risks.

• The plan proposes the defunding of public broadcasting which threatens valuable educational content and media independence.

• Significant reforms to agricultural and education policies will harm low-income families and exacerbate educational inequalities.

• The strict immigration policies risk labor shortages and economic harm.
